Officials warn virus still around and could surge again Illinois and the Chicago area have seen an easing of the H1N1 swine flu infection in recent weeks, suggesting the pandemic has peaked here at least for now, much as it has done throughout the nation and the Northern Hemisphere.
With swine flu vaccine more plentiful and demand lower than expected, health departments in Austin and some other Texas cities have switched gears to make the vaccine available to all comers.

Researchers at Hokkaido University said Thursday they have found a combination of substances that is effective at combating swine flu.
