LONDON - British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline said Friday that sales of its swine flu vaccine products totaled 835 million pounds (944 million euros, $1.36 billion) in the fourth quarter of last year.

The Greater Western Area Health Service has warned that a “big epidemic” of swine flu would put a lot of pressure on health resources, after a second wave of the virus was predicted to sweep across the State.
ATLANTA - A new government estimate says swine flu has sickened about 55 million Americans and killed about 11,160. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the estimates on Friday, which cover roughly the first eight months of the pandemic — from April through mid-December.
MONTGOMERY -- The state health officer said Friday the swine flu has claimed the lives of at least 40 Alabamians, but it's no longer considered a statewide infection.

The Isle of Man is over the worst of the swine flu pandemic, the island's director of public health says.
A new government estimate says swine flu has sickened about 55 million Americans and killed about 11,160.
Five swine flu deaths were recorded in India Friday, taking the toll so far to 1,113, health authorities said here. Also 64 new cases were reported in the country, taking the number of people infected with the contagious virus to 28,111.
HEALTH experts are warning that Australians can expect a second wave of swine flu, possibly as early as the beginning of the school year just a fortnight away.
