ST. LOUIS (AP) — Missouri has been “incredibly lucky” that only 11 of an estimated 10,000 U.S. deaths from swine flu are attributed to residents of the state, a health official said.
While the prevalence of swine flu has decreased, health officials still are encouraging residents to get the vaccine in preparation for a predicted third wave of the virus.
The Jackson County Health Department will be providing H1N1, or swine flu vaccinations Jan. 20 and Jan. 22, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
